It can virtually never be saturated because for every town and city across the world, there are hundreds of categories of local service businesses, and many of those don’t have a web presence, or they change hands, or someone retires, or the websites that are ranked now get pushed down by fresher, more relevant content. Rank and rent is not saturated but google algorithms change (you can be penalized for paying for GMB optimization services, and GMB listings) and that’s why it gets harder to use old methods to try and do the same thing… and this THING you will be doing is also known as digital marketing and local lead generation. Yes! I am a self-employed person and I love being my own boss. There is no doubt about it, and working from home has a lot of upsides. I am able to work whenever I want, set my own hours, choose what projects I do, and determine how much money I make. I have complete control over my working environment and I don’t have to worry about bosses breathing down my neck, telling me what to do, or having someone else’s opinion dictate whether or not I succeed at something. I can take as long as I need to finish a project if I feel it’s necessary. On top of that, I can spend more time with family and friends and less time commuting. I’m free to travel anywhere in the world without worrying about where I’ll find a job. I can go on vacation any time I want. There is absolutely nothing stopping me.
Yet being your own boss comes with responsibilities. You’re responsible for keeping track of expenses, paying taxes, and setting a schedule to avoid becoming lazy and not actually getting work done. If things aren’t going well, you’re the only one who knows why.
